Shimron Hetmyer produced a sensational unbeaten 111 off just 43 balls as Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated Trinbago Knight Riders by nine runs via DLS in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at Queen’s Park Oval.
The match was reduced to 16 overs per side after rain, but Hetmyer turned the shortened contest into a personal masterclass, equalling the fastest century in CPL history by reaching three figures in just 40 balls. His explosive knock, combined with Romario Shepherd’s late hitting, powered Guyana to 185/5 before DLS set Trinbago a revised target of 182. Nicholas Pooran struck 43, while Alex Hales smashed 55, including seven sixes, but the Knight Riders lost wickets regularly.
Shamar Joseph dismissed Hales before Shepherd defended 24 runs in the final over to preserve Guyana’s unbeaten record.
