Romario Shepherd produced a match-winning spell, taking the first hat-trick of the T20 World Cup 2026 as West Indies beat Scotland by 35 runs in their Group C opener in Kolkata.
Shepherd grabbed four wickets in five balls, finishing with 5-20, to dismiss Scotland for 147 while chasing 183. Earlier, Shimron Hetmyer smashed a 36-ball 64 to lift West Indies to 182/5 at Eden Gardens.
Scotland threatened at 114/3 after a strong stand between Richie Berrington and Tom Bruce, but strikes from Jason Holder and Shepherd ended their challenge decisively.
