NorthEast United FC produced a clinical performance to defeat Chennaiyin FC 4-1 in the Indian Super League at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Sunday.
Jairo Samperio starred with a first-half brace to give the Highlanders complete control. An own goal from Laldinliana R and a late strike from Lalbiakdika sealed the emphatic win. Chennaiyin briefly reduced the deficit through Laldinliana after a smart move involving Alberto Noguera.
The victory lifted NorthEast United to ninth in the standings with 13 points, while Chennaiyin remained 13th with nine points after another disappointing defensive display.
