India’s Lakshya Sen produced a stunning upset, defeating second seed and world No. 2 Anders Antonsen to storm into the men’s singles quarterfinals of the Denmark Open 2025 on Thursday.
The world No. 21 showcased brilliant form to outclass the Dane 21-13, 21-14 in just 53 minutes, combining sharp net play, fierce smashes, and smart tactics. Sen, who earlier beat Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen, will next face the winner of Weng Hong Yang (China) vs Alex Lanier (France).
In men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced to the quarterfinals with a 21-19, 21-17 win over Chinese Taipei’s Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan in 41 minutes.
