Gulf Giants started their ILT20 Season 4 campaign with a commanding six-wicket win over MI Emirates, ending a six-match losing streak in Dubai.
Pathum Nissanka’s blistering 81 off 42 and Azmatullah Omarzai’s explosive 39* off 16, along with his two wickets, powered the chase of 164 in just 14.4 overs. Earlier, Omarzai and Nuwan Thushara struck twice each to reduce MI Emirates to 36/3 before Nicholas Pooran (46) and Kieron Pollard (50) rebuilt with a 78-run stand. Despite late hitting from Shepherd, MI’s 163/6 proved insufficient as the Giants dominated with bat and ball.
