Raphinha emerged as the hero as FC Barcelona retained the Spanish Super Cup with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Real Madrid.
The Brazilian opened the scoring with a fine low strike and later netted the decisive goal in the second half, aided by a deflection. Barcelona led twice in the first half through Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, but Madrid responded via Vinicius Jr and Gonzalo Garcia. Madrid pressed hard for an equaliser late on, but Barca goalkeeper Joan Garcia stood firm.
Barcelona eventually held on to seal a hard-fought and deserved triumph over their arch-rivals.
