Azmatullah Omarzai delivered a match-winning all-round show as Afghanistan secured their first victory of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup with a five-wicket win over the United Arab Emirates national cricket team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Omarzai claimed 4-15 to restrict UAE to 160/9 before smashing an unbeaten 40 off 21 balls in the chase. Ibrahim Zadran added a composed 53, while Sohaib Khan top-scored with 68 for UAE.
The win keeps Afghanistan’s Super Eights hopes alive.
