Alana King produced a record-breaking spell of 7 for 18 as Australia thrashed South Africa by seven wickets in their final league match of the Women’s World Cup 2025 at Indore’s Holkar Stadium on Saturday.
South Africa, asked to bat first, were bundled out for just 97 in 24 overs despite Laura Wolvaardt’s 31 and Sinalo Jafta’s 29. King became the first woman to claim a seven-wicket haul in World Cup history. Beth Mooney (42) and Georgia Voll (38*) ensured a comfortable chase as Australia cruised home in 16.5 overs.
With their fifth straight win, Australia topped the table with 13 points.
