Switzerland Beat Canada 2-1 to Top Group B

Switzerland secured a 2-1 victory over Canada in their final Group B match of the FIFA World Cup 2026 at Vancouver, with goals from Ruben Vargas and Johan Manzambi sealing all three points.

After a goalless first half, Vargas opened the scoring early in the second period before Manzambi doubled Switzerland’s advantage in the 57th minute. Canada responded through substitute Promise David, who scored shortly after coming on, but the hosts could not find an equaliser.

The result saw Switzerland finish top of Group B, while Canada progressed as runners-up, reaching the World Cup knockout stage for the first time in their history after previous group-stage exits in 1986 and 2022.
