Chasing 159, New Zealand opener Tim Seifert set the platform with a blistering 72 off 38 balls, smashing seven sixes and four fours. Despite late pressure from Mohammad Amir and Ben Sanderson, Liam Dawson held his nerve to hit the winning six over mid-wicket and seal victory. Earlier, Trent Rockets posted 158/8, with Aneurin Donald top-scoring with 38. Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad impressed with 3/33 to restrict the Rockets.
Manchester Super Giants’ triumph marked a memorable end to the tournament, while Trent Rockets missed the opportunity to become the first team to win both the men’s and women’s titles in the same season.
