Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Retirement, Says “Probably My Last Year”

Cristiano Ronaldo has given his strongest indication yet that his legendary football career could be nearing its end, admitting that the current season is “probably my last year” in the sport.

The 41-year-old Portugal captain, who plays for Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, made the revelation in an interview with Vogue. Ronaldo has previously suggested that retirement was approaching and confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup would be his final appearance at the tournament. Reflecting on life after football, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he is looking forward to spending more time with his family, travelling and playing padel.

Ronaldo began his professional career at Sporting CP before starring for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, and later joining Al Nassr in 2023.
