Algeria Beat Jordan 2-1 to Keep World Cup 2026 Knockout Hopes Alive

Algeria produced a spirited second-half comeback to defeat Jordan 2-1 in their Group J clash at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Jordan took the lead in the 36th minute when Nizar Al Rashdan swept home after an assist from Mousa Al Tamari. Algeria responded strongly after the break, with Nadhir Benbouali heading in the equaliser from a corner in the 69th minute. The winner arrived eight minutes from time when Amine Gouiri finished from close range following another set-piece.

The victory keeps Algeria’s knockout hopes alive, while Jordan’s defeat confirms their elimination from the tournament.
