Sunrisers Eastern Cape strengthened their grip on the top of the SA20 table with a commanding seven-wicket win over MI Cape Town at St George’s Park, ending the visitors’ playoff hopes.
MI Cape Town, needing a bonus-point win, were restricted to 148/6 despite Reeza Hendricks’ unbeaten 70, as debutant Chris Green impressed with 3/29. In reply, Quinton de Kock and Matthew Breetzke added 109 runs to anchor the chase.
Though both fell late, Jordan Hermann calmly struck the winning runs to spark celebrations and seal a Qualifier 1 berth for the two-time champions.
