Shubman Gill admitted Gujarat Titans’ poor fielding and mistakes under pressure played a major role in their crushing 92-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 at Dharamshala.
Chasing a massive 255-run target, GT were bowled out for 162 despite a fighting 68 from Rahul Tewatia. Gill said dropped catches, misfields and lapses in pressure moments allowed RCB to dominate after skipper Rajat Patidar smashed an unbeaten 93 off 39 balls. The GT captain felt the target was still chaseable on the batting-friendly pitch if his side had managed a stronger power-play.
Despite the setback, Gill urged his team to quickly regroup ahead of their next knockout clash in Mohali to keep their IPL 2026 title hopes alive.
