Shreyas Iyer Calls India’s 125-Run Defeat to England ‘Atrocious’ After Record T20I Loss

Shreyas Iyer Slams India's 'Atrocious' Performance After Record T20I Defeat

India captain Shreyas Iyer labelled his team’s performance “atrocious” after England thrashed the visitors by 125 runs in the third T20I at Trent Bridge, sealing the five-match series 2-0.

It was India’s biggest defeat by runs in men’s T20I history, with the visitors bowled out for just 76 while chasing 202. Iyer admitted India failed in both batting and bowling, pointing to the loss of four wickets in the powerplay and poor execution with the ball. He said the team must “go back to the drawing board” and learn from the heavy defeat.

England had earlier posted 201/7, powered by Phil Salt’s 70 and Sam Curran’s unbeaten 41, before their bowlers completed a dominant victory.
