SG Pipers delivered a composed and disciplined display to defeat Soorma Hockey Club 1-0 in a closely fought Women’s Hockey India League match in Ranchi.
Captain Navneet Kaur’s early fourth-minute strike, created through a brilliant solo run, proved decisive. After taking the lead, the table-toppers defended resolutely, denying Soorma space and chances despite sustained pressure. Soorma earned four penalty corners across the match but failed to convert any, often undone by poor execution.
The Pipers managed possession smartly and held firm in all four quarters to secure their second straight victory and stay on top of the points table.
