All-rounder Saim Ayub delivered a match-winning performance as Pakistan secured a spin-assisted 22-run victory over Australia in the first T20I in Lahore.
Ayub top-scored with a brisk 40 off 22 balls and later struck twice with the ball, dismissing openers Matthew Short and Travis Head. Pakistan posted 168-8, while spinners dominated Australia’s chase, claiming six wickets as the visitors were restricted to 146-8.
Abrar Ahmed was impressive with 2-10. Skipper Salman Agha praised the team effort as both sides fine-tuned preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
