Sixth seed Sindhu outclassed Chinese Taipei’s Tung Ciou-Tong 21-9, 21-12 in just 33 minutes, while former world No.1 Srikanth defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew 21-14, 21-15 in a rematch of the 2021 World Championships final. However, rising Indian star Ayush Shetty bowed out after losing to Japan’s Kodai Naraoka in three games.
