Indian wrestling is set for a strong revival as the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) returns in January 2026 under the direct supervision of the Wrestling Federation of India.
The new format will feature six franchises, each with nine wrestlers — five Indian and four foreign — including four women competing in the 53 kg, 57 kg, 62 kg, and 76 kg categories. The league aims to provide women wrestlers with global exposure, financial growth, and media visibility.
Promoters say PWL 2026 will mark a new era for Indian wrestling, empowering athletes and transforming the sport into a national spectacle.
