Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins praised Ishan Kishan for his mature innings after SRH defeated Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to qualify for the IPL 2026 playoffs.
Chasing 181 at Chepauk, Kishan anchored the innings with a composed 70 off 47 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen smashed 47 to guide SRH home with six balls remaining. Cummins admitted the Chennai pitch was challenging and said SRH had to adapt their usually aggressive approach. He highlighted the importance of partnerships and credited Kishan for leading the chase calmly after the early dismissal of Travis Head.
The victory lifted SRH to third place in the points table with 16 points from 13 matches and confirmed their playoff qualification alongside Gujarat Titans and RCB.
