France captain Kylian Mbappe retained the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot after finishing as the top scorer at the 2026 tournament with 10 goals.
The 27-year-old achieved the feat by scoring twice in France’s thrilling 6-4 defeat to England in the third-place playoff, becoming the first player to win the Golden Boot in consecutive World Cups after also claiming the award in Qatar 2022. Mbappe enjoyed a sensational campaign, netting braces against Senegal, Iraq and Sweden, before adding goals against Paraguay, Morocco and England.
He also became the FIFA World Cup’s all-time leading scorer. Argentina captain Lionel Messi finished second with eight goals, while England star Jude Bellingham ended the tournament with seven strikes.
