Kolkata Knight Riders kept their IPL 2026 playoff hopes alive with a hard-fought four-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians at Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
Chasing 148 on a difficult surface, KKR rode on Manish Pandey’s composed 45 and Rovman Powell’s aggressive 40 to reach the target in 18.5 overs. Earlier, KKR bowlers dominated the contest as Cameron Green and Saurabh Dubey dismantled Mumbai’s top order, reducing them to 46/4 in the Power-play. Sunil Narine further tightened the grip with an economical spell, while Corbin Bosch’s unbeaten 32 helped MI recover to 147/8.
Jasprit Bumrah briefly revived Mumbai’s hopes with crucial wickets, but KKR held their nerve in the chase. Rinku Singh sealed the win with a boundary as Kolkata stayed firmly in the playoff race.
