JSW Soorma Hockey Club produced a spirited display to defeat league leaders Vedanta Kalinga Lancers 2-1 in Match 26 of the Men’s Hockey India League 2025-26 at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium.
Jeetpal and Vivek Sagar Prasad scored for Soorma, while a resolute defensive effort, marshalled by Player of the Match Victor Wegnez, frustrated the Lancers throughout. Goalkeeper Vincent Vanasch played a key role with several crucial saves as the table-toppers pushed hard late on.
The win kept Soorma’s slim playoff hopes alive, handing the Lancers a rare setback in their final league outing.
