Japan’s newly built cricket stadium in Nisshin will host men’s T20 internationals for the first time during the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) qualifiers for the 2028 T20 World Cup, the ICC confirmed.
The tournament, scheduled from May 8–18, will feature nine teams competing for a place in the next stage. Built for the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, the venue marks a major step in Japan’s cricket development. Matches will also be played in Sano.
Japan will compete alongside teams like Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and South Korea, as the country looks to boost cricket’s profile ahead of the Asian Games later this year.
