Ishan Kishan will captain Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening matches of IPL 2026 as Pat Cummins continues recovery from a back injury. Abhishek Sharma will be his deputy. The arrangement is temporary, with Cummins expected to return after regaining full fitness and possibly miss the first three games.
SRH begin their campaign against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 28. Cummins, who has been out since December, has been cleared to join the squad and will undergo rehabilitation in India before making his comeback.
