Indian women wrestlers produced a stellar show at the Under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship in Novi Sad, Serbia, clinching five bronze medals through Nishu (55kg), Neha Sharma (57kg), Pulkit (65kg), Shrishti (68kg), and Priya (76kg).
Meanwhile, Hanshika Lamba (53kg) and Sarika Malik (59kg) entered the finals and will battle Japanese opponents for gold on Saturday, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) said.
Earlier, India’s Vishvajit More (55kg Greco-Roman) secured the nation’s first medal at the event, defeating a Kazakh wrestler 5–4 in a thrilling bronze medal bout after a strong comeback through repechage.
