Skipper Suryakumar Yadav silenced critics with a blistering unbeaten 82 as India crushed New Zealand by seven wickets in the second T20I at Raipur to take a 2-0 series lead.
After early setbacks, Ishan Kishan’s explosive 76 off 32 balls and a 122-run stand with Suryakumar turned the chase on its head. India raced to 209/3 in just 15.2 overs, completing their second-highest successful T20I chase and the biggest win by balls remaining against a 200-plus target.
Earlier, Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra lifted New Zealand to 208/6, but India’s batting firepower proved overwhelming.
