Centuries from KL Rahul and Shubman Gill powered India to a commanding 368/3 on the opening day of the one-off Test against Afghanistan.
Rahul scored 100 and shared a crucial 139-run stand with B. Sai Sudharsan, who impressed with a fluent 81. After Rahul’s dismissal, captain Gill took charge, bringing up an unbeaten century and guiding India through the final session. Rishabh Pant provided excellent support with an unbeaten 50 as the duo added an unbroken century partnership.
Afghanistan’s best bowler was Mohammad Saleem Safi, who claimed 2/50. India will look to build a massive first-innings total on Day 2.
