India created history by winning their first-ever bronze medal at the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup 2025, defeating Argentina 4-2 in a remarkable comeback in Chennai.
Trailing 0-2 after goals from Nicolas Rodriguez and Santiago Fernandez, India struck four times in eleven minutes through Ankit Pal, Manmeet Singh, Shardanand Tiwari, and Anmol Ekka. The hosts dominated large phases, showing resilience and composure to overturn the deficit. This bronze adds to India’s previous two golds (2001, 2016) and one silver (1997), making it their most successful podium finish since 2016. Hockey India rewarded the team and support staff for the landmark achievement.
