Harry Brook Century Powers England to Historic ODI Series Win in Sri Lanka

Harry Brook Admits England Underestimated Opponents, Eyes Strong Super 8 Start

Harry Brook’s blistering 57-ball hundred powered England to a famous 53-run victory over Sri Lanka in Colombo, sealing the ODI series and ending the hosts’ five-year unbeaten home run.

Brook’s brutal 136 not out, backed by Joe Root’s unbeaten 111, lifted England to a daunting 357 for three. Chasing 358, Sri Lanka started fast but collapsed once the field spread, despite a maiden international hundred from Pavan Rathnayake.

England’s spinners and sharp fielding applied the squeeze as the hosts were bowled out for 304. The win capped a polished all-round display and sent Sri Lanka slipping to sixth in the ICC ODI rankings.
