Hardik Pandya Blames Costly Death Overs After MI Crash Out Of IPL 2026

Hardik Pandya admitted conceding 73 runs in the final five overs proved costly as Mumbai Indians suffered a 30-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals and bowed out of IPL 2026.

Despite reducing RR to 119/5, Mumbai allowed late cameos from Jofra Archer, Ravindra Jadeja and Nandre Burger to push the total to 205/8. Archer later starred with the ball, claiming 3-17 to derail MI’s chase despite Suryakumar Yadav scoring 60. Pandya said Mumbai lost too many early wickets and failed to control the death overs.

The five-time champions finished a disappointing season with just eight points from 14 matches.
