Germany stormed into the FIFA World Cup 2026 with a dominant 6-0 win over Slovakia to finish atop Group A, led by Leroy Sane’s brilliance and goals from Nick Woltemade, Serge Gnabry, Florian Wirtz, Ridle Baku and debutant Assan Ouedraogo.
The Netherlands also booked their spot, easing past Lithuania 4-0 in Amsterdam thanks to strikes from Tijjani Reijnders, Cody Gakpo, Xavi Simons and Donyell Malen. Despite their loss, Slovakia remain in World Cup contention through the UEFA Play-offs, joined by Poland after their narrow win over Malta.
Northern Ireland ended their campaign positively with victory over Luxembourg.
