Elina Svitolina produced a brilliant performance to defeat Iga Swiatek 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 and book her place in the Italian Open final in Rome.
The two-time Rome champion returned to the final for the first time since her back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. Svitolina saved 11 of 16 break points during the thrilling semifinal and maintained her strong record against Swiatek this season after also beating the Polish star at Indian Wells earlier this year.
She will now face Coco Gauff in the final, with both players chasing their first WTA 1000 title of the season.
