The BWF World Championships 2026 concluded in New Delhi on Sunday with France and Korea creating history on a record-breaking final day.
Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue won France’s first-ever World Championships gold in mixed doubles, defeating China’s top seeds Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping. Alex Lanier then added the men’s singles crown, becoming France’s first world champion in the category. World No. 1 An Se Young regained the women’s singles title after beating defending champion Akane Yamaguchi, while Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee ended Korea’s 31-year wait for the women’s doubles crown.
China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang won the men’s doubles title. India’s Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand received their historic bronze medals.
