Bangladesh team tightened their grip on the second Test against Pakistan after opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored a fluent 52 on day two in Sylhet.
Bangladesh ended the day at 110/3 in their second innings, leading by 156 runs after bowling Pakistan out for 232. Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam and pacer Nahid Rana claimed three wickets each, while Babar Azam top-scored for Pakistan with 68.
Earlier, Bangladesh secured a 46-run first-innings lead thanks to Litton Das’ brilliant 126. Joy bounced back strongly after a first-innings duck before Mohammad Abbas dismissed him. With three days remaining and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto unbeaten on 13, Bangladesh are firmly placed to seal the series.
