Tawhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain powered Bangladesh to their highest successful T20I chase at home with a six-wicket win over New Zealand in Chattogram.
Chasing 183, Hridoy anchored the innings with an unbeaten 51 off 27 balls, while Shamim smashed 31* off just 13 deliveries, including a game-changing 25-run over off Matthew Fisher, to seal the chase with two overs to spare. Their effort surpassed Bangladesh’s previous best home chase of 171 and gave them a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Earlier, Katene Clarke and Dane Cleaver struck half-centuries to guide New Zealand to 182/6, while Rishad Hossain starred with the ball, picking up two crucial wickets.
