Michael Neser’s maiden five-wicket haul powered Australia to an eight-wicket win over England in the second Ashes Test at the Gabba.
England resumed on 143/6 and briefly fought back through a 96-run stand between Ben Stokes (50) and Will Jacks (41). But once both fell in successive overs, England collapsed, losing their last four wickets for 17 runs to be bowled out for 241. Neser, recalled ahead of Nathan Lyon, starred with 5-41. Australia chased the 65-run target with ease as Steve Smith smashed an unbeaten 23 off nine balls.
The hosts now lead the five-match series 2-0 heading into Adelaide.
