Sweden produced a dominant display to defeat Tunisia 5-1 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F clash at Monterrey Stadium.
Yasin Ayari opened the scoring with a stunning long-range strike before Alexander Isak doubled Sweden’s lead after a rapid counterattack. Tunisia briefly reduced the deficit through Omar Rekik, who headed home his first international goal from Hannibal Mejbri’s delivery. However, Sweden took complete control in the second half. Viktor Gyokeres capitalised on a defensive error to make it 3-1, while substitute Mattias Svanberg added a fourth after a VAR review confirmed the goal.
Ayari completed the rout with another spectacular effort from outside the box, sealing an emphatic victory and a perfect start to Sweden’s World Cup campaign.
