Dan Lawrence Returns to England’s Squad for First Two Pakistan Tests After Two-Year Absence

England have named a 16-man squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan, but will be without Jacob Bethell after the all-rounder was ruled out of the entire three-match series with a knee injury.

Jordan Cox is set to replace him at No. 3, while Ollie Pope, Brydon Carse, Dan Lawrence and Sam Cook have all earned recalls. Lawrence returns to the Test side after two years following an outstanding County Championship campaign with Surrey.

The first Test begins on August 19 at Headingley, marking England’s first red-ball assignment in the post-Ben Stokes era, with Joe Root leading the side and Marcus Trescothick serving as interim head coach.
