Ireland Leg-Spinner Ben White Announces Retirement At 28

Ireland leg-spinner Ben White has announced his retirement from representative cricket at the age of 28. White made his international debut in a T20I against South Africa in Belfast in 2021. His final appearance for Ireland came against Bangladesh in December 2025.

During his international career, White represented Ireland in 43 matches across formats, including three Test matches, all played in 2023. He featured in 38 T20Is and finished his career with 41 international wickets.

White was also part of Ireland’s squads for three ICC Men’s T20 World Cups in 2021, 2024 and 2026.

Expressing his gratitude to Cricket Ireland, White said representing his country and playing cricket at the highest level had fulfilled a childhood dream. He added that he would always be proud of his achievements and cherish the memories from his career.

Ireland head coach Gary Wilson praised White’s dedication and contribution to the team. He said White would be remembered particularly for his T20 performances, highlighting his ability to generate bounce and trouble batters with his bowling.
