Indian Shooting Legend Jaspal Rana

Indian shooting legend and national coach Jaspal Rana passed away on Friday at the age of 49 after a brief illness, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) confirmed.

A recipient of the Arjuna Award, Padma Shri and Dronacharya Award, Rana was one of India’s most decorated shooters. He won 15 Commonwealth Games medals, including nine golds, and multiple Asian Games medals during a stellar career.

Rana also represented India at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. After retirement, he became a successful coach, mentoring several top shooters, including Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker. His contribution to Indian shooting spanned over three decades.
