Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj missed out on the men’s 50m backstroke final at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after finishing 11th in the semifinals with a time of 25.29 seconds.
Despite the disappointment, the two-time Olympian remained positive, saying his new sprint-focused training approach has improved his performances and recovery.
Inspired by Australian Olympic champion Cam McEvoy, Nataraj has revamped his training over the past three months. He has now shifted his focus to the Asian Games later this year, aiming to build on his progress and deliver stronger performances for India.
