Nat Sciver-Brunt delivered a match-winning all-round performance as England defeated South Africa by 40 runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup semifinal at The Oval to book a final clash against Australia.
After England slipped to 23/3, Sciver-Brunt smashed 75 while Heather Knight added 58 in a record 133-run partnership, guiding the hosts to 169/5. South Africa’s chase never gained momentum despite Tazmin Brits’ fighting 51, as Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean claimed two wickets each to restrict them to 129/8.
England remain unbeaten in the tournament and will now face defending champions Australia at Lord’s, aiming to maintain their perfect Women’s World Cup record on home soil.
