Emma Raducanu Withdraws From Wimbledon After Stress Fracture Rules Her Out Before First Match

British No. 1 Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from Wimbledon after a lower-leg stress fracture forced her out of the tournament. The 2021 US Open champion announced her decision just hours before her first-round match against Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic.

Raducanu had been managing a leg issue since reaching the Queen’s Championships final earlier this month, but scans confirmed the problem had developed into a stress fracture.

The 23-year-old said she had tried everything to be ready for Wimbledon but was advised to stop pushing through the injury. Her withdrawal comes after missing several major WTA events due to fitness concerns.
