England sealed the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka with a convincing six-wicket victory in the second T20I at Pallekele on Sunday.
Chasing a revised DLS target of 168, England rode on a blistering 36 off 12 balls from skipper Harry Brook and a composed 54 from Tom Banton to get home with two balls to spare. Sri Lanka had earlier posted 189/5, highlighted by Pavan Rathnayake’s quick 40.
The win gave England an unassailable 2-0 lead, underlining their strong World Cup preparations, while the final match of the series will now be a dead rubber.
