Vedanta Kalinga Lancers lifted the Men’s Hockey India League title after edging Ranchi Royals 3-2 in a gripping final at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Backed by home fans, Alexander Hendrickx starred with two penalty-corner goals while Dilpreet Singh added another to give the Lancers a decisive lead. Ranchi Royals fought back through Araijeet Singh Hundal and a late strike from skipper Tom Boon, but the Lancers’ defence held firm in the closing moments.
The victory earned the champions INR 3 crore, capping a memorable HIL campaign on home soil.
