India captain Suryakumar Yadav admitted his team fell short in execution with both bat and ball during their 51-run defeat to South Africa in the second T20I.
India conceded 213/4, including 15 wides, and apart from Tilak Varma’s 62, failed to handle the chase, folding for 162. Suryakumar called it a learning phase, stressing the need for better lengths, backup plans, and stronger starts from the top order. He said dew played a part but couldn’t be an excuse. The skipper also defended Axar Patel’s promotion to No. 3, saying the team backed his recent batting form.
