Croatia booked its spot at the 2026 World Cup with a 3-1 win over the Faroe Islands, overturning an early shock in Friday’s ninth-round qualifier.
Geza David Turi put the visitors ahead, but Josko Gvardiol equalized soon after with a composed finish. Croatia then dominated, and Josip Stanisic set up Petar Musa for a 57th-minute goal, his first since 2023. Nikola Vlasic sealed the result with a controlled strike from Ivan Perisic’s cross.
The victory puts Croatia six points clear of the Czech Republic, securing the top spot in Group L. Montenegro beat Gibraltar 2-1, while the Netherlands drew 1-1 in Poland.
