Spain Beat Argentina 1-0 to Win FIFA World Cup 2026, Ferran Torres Scores Extra-Time Winner

Substitute Ferran Torres scored the decisive extra-time winner as Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 to win the FIFA World Cup 2026 final at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

After a goalless 90 minutes, Torres struck in the 106th minute, converting Nico Williams’ headed assist with a powerful left-footed finish beyond Emiliano Martinez. Spain dominated possession and created the better chances throughout, but Martinez kept Argentina in the contest with a series of outstanding saves. Argentina’s hopes suffered a major blow when Enzo Fernandez was sent off in stoppage time before extra time.

Lionel Messi was kept quiet by Spain’s disciplined defence as La Roja completed an unbeaten campaign to lift their second World Cup title, their first since 2010.
