Shrachi Bengal Tigers Edge SG Pipers in Shootout to Reach Women’s HIL Final
Shrachi Bengal Tigers once again held their nerve to defeat SG Pipers 0-0 (7-6 SO) in a gripping Women’s Hockey India League 2025-26 encounter, sealing a place in the final.
In a repeat of their earlier meeting, the match remained goalless through regulation time despite sustained pressure from the Tigers and outstanding goalkeeping by Pipers’ Bansari Solanki. Late chances, including a final-second penalty corner, went begging before the contest moved to sudden death. The Tigers converted all five attempts in the shootout, while the Pipers missed once.
The win earned a crucial bonus point and set up a final rematch on January 10.
